Our Active Schools team, funded by sportscotland, supports primary and secondary schools to increase the number and diversity of children participating in extracurricular clubs and develop pathways to improve the transition from schools to sports clubs. We provide children with these opportunities by working with schools and sports clubs, but we also need help from lots of volunteers.
Our volunteers play a crucial role in the success of all Active Schools initiatives. These volunteers dedicate an incredible number of hours to the programme, helping to make sure that children and young people have access to different sports.
We recognise that our young people make a valuable contribution as leaders in sport. Our LEAD Sport pathway provides opportunities for our young people to develop by accessing our leadership courses, roles, and experiences.
Active Schools has worked with schools for over 10 years providing opportunities for children and young people to get involved, and stay involved, in sport and will continue to make a significant contribution to a world class sporting system in Scotland.
